CIUDADANOS INDEPENDIENTE POR ALTEA (CIPAL) considers it important to support a revision of the PGOU (General Urban Plan for Altea) that enables a new model of sustainable urban development, which is more respectful of our heritage and the environment.

Given the special geographical situation of Altea, it is appropriate to maintain the aesthetics of the Mediterranean style and prevent the proliferation of the absurd concrete blocks that adversely affect the environment.

 

It is necessary to enforce the rules within the spirit in which the rules were approved, without subterfuge and second interpretations that result in coastal legislation and laws protecting the environment being violated. Extreme vigilance regarding urban corruption must be maintained.

 

We oppose the expansion of marinas that have an impact on the health of our marine environment destroying our coast, breaking the beauty of our natural areas and polluting our beaches.

 

Respect for the environment, protection of green areas and parks, in particular the wetlands, the river Algar, and our landscape, the Sierra de Bernia.

 

The importance of promoting farming is fundamental. It is essential to preserve the environment and create alternative sources of wealth, to tourism and construction.

 

Continue to promote the environmental protection policies in which field Altea town remains a pioneer. (See Agriculture projects)

 

Absolute priority to pedestrians and bicycles. We propose the creation and where needed the widening of sidewalks, as well as increasing the number of pedestrian crossings and traffic lights, and the implementation of a bike lane route covering the entire municipality.

 

Citizen security using innovative technology and more staffing and equipment resources from the State Security Forces.

 

It is essential to get more resources and equipment to the suburbs and Altea la Vella. Provide a larger number of rubbish containers, underground recycling depositories, waste paper bins, dog excrement deposits. Better cleaning in the streets, beaches, gardens, parks, housing estates and rural areas. More frequent rubbish collection and specialized containers that often are overfull.

CIUDADANOS INDEPENDIENTES POR ALTEA (CIPAL) will make fighting noise pollution in all its forms a priority ("botelon", bars and clubs, restrictions of working hours, and days, municipal-traffic, motorcycles, etc ...). We will take all necessary measures to reduce or eliminate noise, which disturbs people.

It will be a priority in municipal management to improve the provision and maintenance of playgrounds and green areas, to create circuits & bike paths, recreational green areas and provide tree and shrub planting.
